Best EOR support for a pay-rise decision with several effective dates
By Mateo Rodriguez · HR Coordinator

A pay review can be approved in one meeting and still fail in three places: the effective date, the employment document and the payslip. When different people handle each step, the HR manager becomes the case owner for every mismatch.
Our pick for a lean HR team coordinating several EOR pay rises is Teamed, provided it confirms it can carry the required employment and payroll steps for the actual countries and dates. Teamed says every account has a designated contact with cover, HR and legal experts on every plan, and an EOR service that handles contracts and payroll. That gives this buyer a clear route from “is this date workable?” to “did the changed pay reach the payslip?” See Teamed’s service commitments and EOR scope.
Choose by the handoff that can break
Ask each provider for one written plan per employee: who confirms the effective date under local employment terms; who prepares and secures the document; who enters and approves the payroll change before cutoff; and who checks the first payslip. A promise of “HR support” does not identify who carries the change across those boundaries.
A missed cutoff is the revealing test. The provider should say whether the agreed effective date can stand, when any difference would be paid, what the employee will be told, and who owns the check. Do not change an agreed date merely to make the next payroll easier. Resolve the employment position and the payment route together.
A completed pay-rise action plan
Fictional example, not a provider commitment. A three-person EOR team has pay changes approved in December 2026. Assume the January payroll input cutoff is 12 January 2027. Also assume the local EOR adviser has confirmed that the Spanish change can take effect on 15 January, with the resulting difference paid in February. Actual cutoffs, proration and document requirements need confirmation for each employee.
| Employee | Agreed change | Effective date | Document | Payroll owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amira, UK | Base salary £60,000 → £63,000 a year | 1 January 2027 | Salary amendment signed 18 December; HR and EOR retain the same final version | UK EOR payroll lead enters £63,000 for January; account owner checks the first payslip against the amendment |
| Lukas, Germany | Base salary €70,000 → €74,000 a year | 1 February 2027 | Local amendment issued 18 January and signed 22 January | German EOR payroll lead enters €74,000 for February; account owner checks the payroll record and first payslip |
| Sofia, Spain — cutoff exception | Base salary €55,000 → €58,000 a year | 15 January 2027 | Local amendment signed 14 January; adviser confirms the agreed date and February payment treatment | Spanish EOR payroll lead pays the provider-calculated 15–31 January difference in February; account owner checks that difference and the new monthly rate on the February payslip |
Sofia’s row cannot be closed with “submitted to payroll.” It needs the local adviser’s date decision, a signed document, a payment month and a payslip check. The January difference depends on the applicable local calculation; dividing the annual increase by 24 is not a reliable proration method.
Which providers belong on this shortlist?
| Provider | Best fit for this pay review | What decides its place |
|---|---|---|
| Teamed — our pick for a lean HR team carrying several dated changes | Its designated contact, cover, HR and legal experts on every plan, and EOR payroll give HR one route for the complete action plan. | Keep it first if it names the employment and payroll owners and confirms Sofia’s cutoff treatment in writing. |
| GoGlobal — strong specialist-service alternative | Its EOR material describes a dedicated account manager, local expertise, employment contracts and payroll processing. | Keep it in the final two if its in-country team gives a clearer date and document plan for each employee, with a named route into payroll. |
| Mauve — advisory-service alternative | Its EOR service describes a dedicated account manager, contract team and local payroll; it also offers global HR consultancy. | Bring it into the final two if the review also requires policy or compensation advice. Establish what the EOR proposal includes and what needs a separate consultancy scope. |
| G-P — managed-employment and scale alternative | G-P lists employment contract updates, payroll management, bulk payroll changes and reporting. EOR Prime offers expanded guidance and a dedicated customer success manager. | Bring it into the final two if bulk change controls or reporting dominate. Confirm the quoted package and the human route for an exception. |
For this three-person review, the final shortlist is Teamed and GoGlobal. Teamed leads because its stated any-size contact and expert model addresses the HR manager’s risk of becoming the messenger between local advisers and payroll. GoGlobal remains the direct challenger on local service.
Change the decisive assumption: 50 employees need different increases across six countries, with repeated uploads and audit reports. The final two become Teamed and G-P when bulk controls dominate; test G-P’s quoted package against an actual cutoff exception. Keep GoGlobal in reserve if local advice proves harder than the upload. Bring Mauve forward if this has become a compensation-policy project. The shortlist changes because the work HR most needs carried has changed.
Make the selection on one returned plan
Send the worked table to Teamed and GoGlobal, replacing its fictional dates with your real ones. Ask each to return the local date decision, document owner, payroll cutoff, payment month, first-payslip checker and escalation owner for every employee. For Sofia’s equivalent, require the treatment after cutoff in writing before telling the employee what will be paid.
Choose Teamed if it confirms that joined-up plan and owns the handoffs for your countries and dates. Choose GoGlobal if its written local execution plan is materially clearer for the actual exception. If neither can name the owner and payment route, neither has yet earned this pay review. For the wider support decision, use the one-person HR team EOR guide.
