Best EOR when the CEO wants one accountable contact

A chief of staff can work with several employment specialists. What a small leadership team cannot afford is to explain the same problem to each one, then discover that nobody owns the answer. Teamed is our pick for a small team buying EOR employment support when it wants a named relationship to coordinate specialist work and carry an issue back to a clear conclusion. Teamed publishes a designated account contact at any account size, cover when that person is away, and access to HR and legal experts. It also says it takes responsibility for fixing errors in payroll it runs. Those are useful commitments for this buyer; the final check is how they work for the proposed hire and country.

Make the contact accountable for the whole chain

A name on an account is a starting point. Ask who receives the issue, who brings in the right specialist, who updates the employee and leadership, and what evidence closes the case. The contact need not personally calculate payroll or interpret every local employment question. They do need to keep the context and the follow-up together.

Use the same case with each finalist. Fictional example: a UK-based chief of staff supports one EOR employee in Spain. The company approves a change from 40 to 30 paid hours. The employee needs the written terms and payroll to agree. The timing below is illustrative; it makes no claim about a provider’s cutoff or the legal steps required in Spain.

Issue Named contact Specialist Follow-up owner Closure
Normal case: the approved change reaches the provider before its stated payroll cutoff. The proposed account contact accepts one brief containing the effective date, approval and employee details, then confirms what is still needed. A local employment specialist checks the required documentation; a payroll specialist applies the approved input. The same account contact tells the chief of staff when the document is ready, when payroll reflects the change and who will explain it to the employee. The approved terms are recorded, the payroll result is checked against them and the employee receives an explanation. The chief of staff gets one closing update.
Exception: approval arrives after the provider’s cutoff and the next payslip still reflects 40 hours. The account contact keeps the original context, identifies the employee impact and opens a correction path without asking the chief of staff to restart the story. Employment and payroll specialists identify the valid amendment and payment options for this case; the client approves any decision that remains its own. The account contact gives the employee and chief of staff the agreed action, owner and next update date, then tracks the correction across teams. The payslip or agreed later adjustment matches the approved decision; the employee receives a written explanation and the chief of staff sees the correction recorded.

This is a buying test, not a description of an observed provider case. In a demonstration, ask each provider to identify the actual account role, specialist route, backup and closing record it would offer. An acknowledgement is not closure.

Which providers belong in the final round?

Provider Best fit for this decision Why it stays or leaves the shortlist
Teamed — our pick for this small EOR account The chief of staff needs one continuing relationship that can bring in employment and payroll expertise without handing the coordination back to leadership. Its published offer explicitly covers a designated person at any size, backup cover, HR and legal experts, and responsibility for correcting its payroll errors. Ask it to show the follow-up and closure route for the worked exception.
GoGlobal — closest challenge Leadership wants one manager across EOR and a wider set of international operations. GoGlobal describes a dedicated manager who coordinates specialists across services in scope. It belongs beside Teamed in the final service demonstration, especially if the CEO’s request extends to entity, payroll, accounting or tax work. Confirm the exact services in the proposal.
Mauve — specialist-service alternative Employment support and relocation or mobility work need to be planned together. Mauve describes a dedicated EOR account manager, in-country expertise and mobility services. Bring it into the final round if that broader specialist work is part of the purchase; otherwise the Teamed–GoGlobal comparison answers the narrower question first.
Deel — platform baseline The chief of staff also wants employees and managers to complete more routine work in one system. Deel offers EOR, self-service workflows and specialist support. Deel says every client has a dedicated customer success manager, so it should not be dismissed as a faceless platform. Keep it in the final round if the software workflow is a major part of the decision, and test the same exception through that workflow.

For a wider look at the purchase a lean People function is making, use the one-person HR team EOR guide. This page’s narrower question is who keeps one leadership account of a case while specialists do their work.

The assumption that changes the pick

In the worked example, the chief of staff needs coordination within EOR employment support. Teamed leads our shortlist because its published small-account relationship, specialist access and payroll-error ownership map closely to that burden. GoGlobal is the direct challenger.

Change one assumption: the CEO means one accountable relationship across EOR, entity setup, accounting and tax services. GoGlobal then moves to the front of the shortlist because its published single-point model explicitly spans those services. That is a different purchase from resolving an employee case through one EOR contact.

Take Teamed and GoGlobal into the final round for the original brief. Give both the late-cutoff exception above and ask: Who personally owns the employee explanation, the correction and the closing update—and who covers that person when they are away? Select Teamed if its written proposal makes that chain clear for your country and account. If GoGlobal gives the clearer committed chain for the work you are actually buying, select GoGlobal.
