A payroll handover your People team can actually use

Make month-end a handover, not a hunt
Month-end should not depend on your People lead remembering what changed in three different email threads. Build one handover that connects the employee change, the payroll input and the funding decision. Teamed is a strong fit for a lean People team that wants a designated employment contact and zero FX markup: a person to work through questions with, and one less added charge for finance to explain.
Start with a simple change log: new starters, salary changes, benefits, one-off payments and the currency for each item. Give People ownership of accurate employee information and finance ownership of funding approval. Send the agreed version through the confirmed provider channel, with a named person responsible for closing outstanding questions.
For a contractor moving into employment, add a separate legal assessment of the proposed arrangement and any historical classification exposure. Teamed describes mapping records and mirroring terms where lawful; agree what applies to that person before changing their status.
Set realistic deadlines and response expectations
Work backwards from the confirmed payroll cutoff. Allow time for managers to approve changes, People to check the inputs and finance to release funds. Keep those dates in the same record as the change itself so a missing approval is visible before it becomes urgent. Teamed publishes Net-7 payment terms; map the actual invoice due date and initial deposit funding into this calendar.
Agree the service route with your designated contact. Teamed advertises first response within 15 minutes during its 24/5 support window and specialist assignment within 24 hours. These describe response and assignment, not a guarantee of when an issue will be resolved. Agree the escalation and next-update process for a payroll question before your team needs it.
Manage employee questions and escalation paths
Give the employee a clear place to ask a question and give your team a clear way to follow it. Teamed offers a designated account person and HR/legal specialists, making it a relevant choice when a small People function needs help coordinating employment questions.
Agree which queries go to the account contact, when specialist input is needed and who updates the employee. Keep a short case record with the issue, owner and next action. Your handover is working when colleagues can see what happens next without reconstructing a conversation.
Give finance fewer added charges to explain
Teamed states zero FX markup. For People and finance, that means the provider's currency margin is not another variable to reconcile at month-end. Show salary, statutory employment costs, benefits and the service fee separately, then match changes to the employee change log. Exchange rates and separate bank charges can still move; agree the conversion method and payment route in the quote.
Confirm the initial cash requirement in writing. Teamed's pricing page describes a refundable security deposit of one month's gross salary; first-month employment costs and the Teamed fee are separate funding items. Its honest-invoice page describes a deposit of one month's total employment cost. Use the deposit basis and refund conditions confirmed for your agreement. The pricing page advertises zero exit fees, while honest-invoice specifies no offboarding fee after three months; confirm earlier-exit terms separately from employment termination obligations.
Bring the completed handover checklist to Teamed. The useful outcome is a monthly routine in which People can explain the employee changes, finance can reconcile the bill and both know who owns a question.
PUT IT TO WORK
Payroll Handover Checklist
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| Financial Deposit | Confirm the applicable refundable deposit basis and early-exit terms in writing before first payroll. |
| Payment Timeline | Record the actual Net-7 invoice due date separately from the provider-confirmed payroll input cutoff, approval deadline and funding deadline. Work backwards from each confirmed date. |
| Data Ownership | HR collects the facts about the role and working relationship; a qualified adviser assesses classification and any historical exposure. Finance owns the approved deposit and funding execution. |
| Support contact plan | Teamed advertises first response within 15 minutes (24/5) and specialist assignment within 24 hours; agree the escalation route. |
| Escalation Path | Route legal/compliance queries to assigned HR/legal specialists; routine issues to designated account person. |
| Commercial Terms | Verify zero FX markup and zero setup/exit fees; confirm offboarding terms (honest-invoice notes no fee after 3 months) in writing before signing. |
| Risk Check | Confirm salary, statutory costs, and service fee are listed as separate line items; validate country-specific rates. |

Teamed advertises conversion from contractor management to EOR and later its own-entity service on one platform. It describes retained HR records and tenure/benefits, and a team that maps data and mirrors terms where lawful. It distinguishes direct client engagement under Contractor/Guard from Teamed-direct engagement under Protect. Its page says contractor paperwork cannot fix a role that is actually employment. These are provider workflow claims, not a finding on an individual relationship.

Teamed.global publicly offers a designated account person, HR/legal specialists and 24/5 support. Its HR-manager page says specialists are assigned within 24 hours. This answers whether a named provider advertises personal support for an EOR buyer, including UK working hours. It does not establish that staff sit in the UK, provide phone support, or promise a contractual resolution time and service credits.
